Horse Riding

Carrigbeg Riding School

Local riding school offering tuition for all level of rider from beginner to experienced. The following topics are taught: show jumping, cross-country riding and jumping, dressage and stable management. The school is located off the Bagenalstown to Myshall road, and just a short drive from Kilgraney House. All year - Mon - Sat. 10am to 5pm.

Warrington Top Flight Equestrian Centre

Warrington Stud Riding Club is run by the Moloney family who have been involved in all aspects of the horse industry for many years, and have competed internationally in show jumping and eventing. The centre has excellent facilities and carries approval from the Association of Irish Riding Establishments. Warrington has a wide choice of horses and ponies on offer to suit every standard of rider. Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Fishing

Southern County Fishing Resort

The closest fishing resort to Kilgraney House. Angling takes place on over 10 acres of water on three different lakes. Southern County Fishing Resort encourages both fly and bait fishing, each lake requiring different fishing skills and provides a great challenge to the angler. This is the only self-stocking fishing resort in Ireland and the lakes are stocked with high quality fish reared in the onsite hatchery. Fish size range from 1.5 lb to 10 lbs.

Inchbeg Fishing School

Located on the River Nore the school offers tuition in wet and dry fly fishing on private waters. A further 3 / 4 mile private stretch is available for experienced fishermen.

Castlecomer Lakes, All year

It is now possible to fish in the two lakes found within Castlecomer Demesne in County Kilkenny. Fishing platforms have been constructed along the west side of each lake to allow the best possible access to the water. Both Lakes have been stocked with rainbow trout. The upper lake can be used for bait fishing while the lower lake is used for fly fishing.
